Városszél… Ez rég neve!
Mérföldkő állt itt, a vén,
És most innen leshet le
Sötét lombú tölgy fele
Egy idegen – azaz én.

Ő vagy én vénültem meg?
Ó, a tölgyfa zöldje friss,
De már oly idegenek
A barátok mind, kiket
Elzártak az évek is.

Bár a tenger mindig kék,
Bár a nap mindig ragyog,
De csaló a víz s az ég!
Már a nap sem az, mint rég,
Már dagály is más robog.

From the outskirts of the town
